About the facility A facility is seeking a pediatric surgeon for
locum tenens coverage.
About the facility location Southern Arizona goes by the name of
Gadsden which means "Lower Arizona" in Spanish! While on
assignment, visit the Saguaro National Park if you are interested
in hiking, or visit the Pima Air & Space Museum!
About the clinician's workday The need for this position is due to
a gap in coverage at a 500-bed, Level 1 trauma hospital. The
schedule involves 24-hour call with typical hospital hours from 7
AM to 5 PM. The role includes managing a volume that is 20%
pediatric clinic and 80% pediatric hospital, with around 500
surgeries per year. The locum will respond to in-house codes but
will not be expected to provide backup for the ED or trauma.
Support staff includes one permanent pediatric surgeon and one
nurse practitioner, with Cerner as the EMR system. Credentialing
typically takes about 4 weeks through Banner.
